Media Release: KDHS ceases providing domiciliary postnatal care

In 2014 the decision was made that Kyabram District Health Service would cease providing birthing services, however, continued to provide domiciliary postnatal care to women in Kyabram and surrounding areas after birthing.

With most local women now seeking this care from Echuca Regional Health, Goulburn Valley Health and Bendigo Health, it means that from December 2019, Kyabram District Health Service will cease provision of domiciliary postnatal care to women in Kyabram and surrounding areas after birthing.

Antenatal and birthing services for women in the local community will continue to be provided by neighbouring maternity services, with women and their babies receiving postnatal domiciliary care from the service which they birth at.

Please contact your birthing hospital for information on how midwifery domiciliary services will be provided in your circumstance.
